Full event details

Discover how major building and development projects come to life. Learn how professionals in quantity surveying, real estate and construction management plan, coordinate budgets, manage teams, solve challenges, and keep projects on track from concept to completion.  This session introduces students to careers in the built environment industries, from designing buildings and choosing materials to costing and managing the materials and people needed to make those buildings happen in a sustainable and profitable way, to inspecting, valuing and trading in property. Students will get involved in discussion and practical taster activities specifically focusing on old and new buildings, design, construction, conservation and business, gaining an insight into the skills and careers that help shape the built environment.
