The University of Bradford's Outreach and Recruitment Team will be delivering these 3 sessions, with the support of our Student Ambassadors.  

The Sessions will include: 

Y11 session (17:30 – 18:30):  

  • Going to university – context, outcomes, opportunity and lifestyle
  • Supporting your young person to start engaging with universities and do some research
  • Choosing Level 3 subjects 
  • Widening Participation – Progression Scheme
  • STEMM – breaking stereotypes
  • A brief introduction to Student Finance
  • Meet our Student Ambassadors
  • Q&A  


Y12 session (18:30 – 19:30): 

  • An introduction to Higher Education
  • Going to university – context, outcomes, opportunity and lifestyle
  • Student Finance
  • Personal Statements
  • Research and how to find the relevant information
  • Things to look out for at Open Days
  • Hearing our Student Ambassador’s Experiences
  • Q&A 


Y13 session (19:30 – 20:30)

  • Supporting study and revision
  • UCAS and making applications
  • Helping with research
  • Supporting your young person with gaining work experience/ volunteer work
  • Student Life
  • Choosing a university – things to think about
  • Student Finance
  • Plan B
  • Foundation Years
  • Hear from our Student Ambassadors
  • Q&A 

These sessions are a really great opportunity for Parents & Carers to understand the next steps for their young person and will provide tips and advice on how to best support their young person's journey into Higher Education.

You are welcome to attend all three sessions, two sessions or just come to the one most relevant to your young person(s). There will be time for a  Q&A at the end of each session. We look forward to seeing you on 26th September!
