This is much more than just a taster session. Students can get a feel for the subject area, while getting to test-drive a selection of specific degree programmes, helping to familiarise them with new fields and courses. These practical sessions place students in our modern facilities, alongside our academic experts.
Title: Designing the Future - Lincoln 3023
Synopsis:
Architecture, Interior Architecture & Design, Design for Events, Exhibition and Performance and Fashion Design have teamed together to bring you a 3Dimensional experience like never before!
The world is changing, what will our planet look like in 1000 years? We invite you to design a city for the future, our workshops will showcase how to explore and shape the landscape as you create new spaces, living quarters, narrate a story of your future and design outfits embraced by your new world.
These taster sessions will provide subject specific insights and showcase what to expect from working in industry, our teaching ethos and projects you'll experience, whilst studying at the University of Lincoln. The event will celebrate creative 3D Design and celebrate the subtle differences between subjects you may not have considered as a designer.
Workshop Description:
Architecture - This session will explore models of new city concepts / citadels
Interior Architecture - This session will explore models (straws and tent frames) of sleeping pods/homes of the future
Design for Event, Exhibition and Performance - Story board of 2023-3023: Lincoln the dystopian future at how you live/adapt to the new world. This could include the day to day or the decline/developments over 1000 years.
Fashion - This session will look at smart fabrics of the future & their response to our new environments. Uniforms of a new age and political stature/gangs/group branding
Timings: 10am - 2.30pm
We are looking for no more than 15 students per institution to attend the day, so as to maximise the opportunity for all.
