Full event details

In this talk, several chemical aspects of interest to forensic science will be discussed. Poisonous elements and molecules will form a central theme, but the talk will also look at the use of chemical agents in warfare and crime. A potential explanation for the mystery of “spontaneous human combustion” will be discussed.

The Discover Programme consists of subject-specific lectures and workshops aimed at Year 12 or Year 1 college students, delivered by academics that teach at the University.

These sessions are designed to both complement the curriculum and introduce new subject areas.
