Our Nursing Experience Day is designed to support those students who are in the first year of College or Sixth Form study to understand what the career and course involves. The day is suitable for those who are considering a career in Nursing (Adult, Learning Disability, Mental Health or Children’s) at university.
Places on our Nursing course are highly competitive, so we have put together this event to help you prepare for application and understand the expectations we would have on you as a student nurse.
On the day the program will be as follows:
09.45-11.00 Arrival at our West Downs Campus. Introductions in our auditorium and a chance to experience a large group lecture.
Those attending will then be divided into smaller groups and rotate around the following sessions:
11.00-12.00 Session 1: Clinical Skills (in our ward)
12.00-12.30 Lunch 12.30-13.30 Session 2: My Nursing Journey
13.30-14.30 Session 3: Nursing Skills
There are two dates available either Friday 23 June or Monday 26 June - the content offered is the same on both dates.
It will be a great opportunity to hear and talk to our nursing lecturers and our current students to help you learn more about our Adult, Learning Disability, Child and Mental Health nursing courses.
