Full event details

The following workshops are based at Sir Tom Cowie Campus but we will be offering workshops for Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration and Design and Fashion Design and Promtion at City Campus at the same time. Those workshops are bookable through the same booking link. 

 

Glass and Ceramics

Clay hand-building and smoke firing workshop 

Explore sustainability within our ceramics department by making a hand-built form from home-dug or recycled clay. You will also have a go at firing your work using alternative firing techniques that utilise discarded/found materials from within the department.? 

 

Photography, Video and Digital Imaging

Recycle, Repurpose, Remix

Working with a broad range of sourced material (including digital negatives), you will recycle, repurpose and remix sourced images to create dynamic new photogram prints in our black and white darkrooms.  You will also be shown some eco-friendly alternatives to traditional darkroom printing.

   

Animation and Games Art

Lost and Found

Working in small teams. your task is to collect old discarded/ found items prior to visiting the University campus. Your task on campus is to create a short animated sequence that aligns with one of the core sustainability themes. In this session, you will have the freedom to experiment and explore a range of tools and animation techniques such as stop motion, cut-out, and experimental animation to bring your found items to life.
