As a society, we're fascinated by crime. The media and popular culture are saturated by images and stories about crime whether it is on TV, a film, on the news or on Youtube. But what is the reality of criminality and criminals that lies behind these representations? In this session we will look at some of the things people believe about crime and put criminology to the test of unravelling whether they are true or false. We will look at the reality of working and researching in prisons and other criminal justice environments.
