Full event details

Mathematics is a powerful toolkit for solving all kinds of quantitative problems in science and engineering and much more besides. In this session we will focus on mathematical modelling: using mathematical tools to understand real-world problems. In particular we will explore one specific - and perhaps surprising - application of maths: how we can design safe and effective dosage regimes for pharmaceutical drugs. Working with Dr Alex Best (a lecturer in mathematics and statistics) you will bring together different mathematical and computational tools to explore this important application.

During this session you have the chance to take part in interactive programming. In order to do so please be aware that a Google account with access to Google Drive will be required. Dr Best will conduct a live demonstration of the programming involved during the workshop for those who do not have a Google account.
