Future Teachers Programme - London

Students will make early steps in developing an understanding of the teaching profession through interactive sessions. We support students in arranging school placements to to develop individuals towards becoming a Future Teacher.

The programme will be delivered at one of our three University of Cumbria campuses that are home to the Institute of Education: Lancaster, Carlisle Fusehill Street and London. You will be allocated a spot on your nearest campus to home address.

Our scheme is built to give year 12 students thinking about a career in education, the experience and knowledge required to make an informed decision about whether teaching is the career for them. This is a sustained programme of activity that will take place in occasional planned sessions over 6 months. At the end of year 12, students will engage in subject tasters and an on-campus discovery day. The programme concludes in Year 13 with application support and guidance sessions, mock interviews and a mini-graduation.
