Full event details

Enter any or all of our three creative competitions:

  • Young Writer -  1000-word short story competition, supported by academic staff in Literary and Creative Studies.
  • Young Anthropologist - 1000-word essay competition, supported by academic staff in Anthropology.
  • Young Podcaster - 3-5 mins podcast competition, supported by academic staff in Education and Lifelong Learning.

All 3 competitions have a £500 first prize, and runner-up prizes of £100. All shortlisted entries will also receive a small prize.

If you register, you'll be invited to online workshops throughout the year delivered by academics and alumni to help you hone your writing and recording skills and learn from our academic staff.

You must register for the competition and submit your final entry by the deadline of Friday 17th April 2026.
