Taking place on International Women in Engineering Day, we will be celebrating women in engineering with a series of talks and interactive sessions from female engineers linked to the School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary.

You will hear from our head of school Professor Hazel Screen as well alumni, academics and current students.

Kinjal Dave, Techwomen100 winner 2019 and Scientist at BAE Systems, studied Aerospace Engineering at Queen Mary. Hear about her career and what it is like being a women in engineering

Gioia Etchi studied Materials Science and Engineering at Queen Mary University of London. Find out how she got her job as a materials engineer at a small tech company in Cambridge

You will also have the chance to ask current students, alumni and academics your questions and get a feel for studying and working in engineering from a woman’s perspective.

This taster course is suitable for :

- Year 12 or 13 students considering progressing in STEM at university
- A-Level Students studying Mathematics and Chemistry or Physics
- BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Engineering alongside A Level Mathematics, or equivalent level 3 qualifications suitable that meet our standard entry criteria
