Aim of the event
These workshops are to inspire and upskill students to develop their own ambassadorial role within their school, college or wider community through their development of being an ethical and professional practitioner when working with children, young people and their families. The workshops aim to complement the work the students will already be doing on their courses. The outcomes are to enhance experience of Early Childhood, Education Childhood and Youth, Education Studies, Special Educational Needs Disability and Inclusion Studies and Young People, Family and Community in higher education, development of core skills valued by the sector in range of contexts.

Workshop 1 Safeguarding -
This workshop introduces the current debates around safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and encourages you to explore how media, policy and legislation inform safeguarding practice.

Workshop 2 Promoting Inclusive Practice -
This practical workshop will enable you to consider how your involvement and collaboration with children, young people and their families is important when developing inclusive practices in education

Workshop 3 Education and Social Justice -
In this workshop you will consider if education promotes social justice for all children and pupils in accessing an equal education or does this create inequalities for children and pupils.

Workshop 4 Event Evaluation –
Developing Professionals. This workshop enables you to work in teams to enhance your communication skills and to reflect on and evaluate the skills required to be a professional and ethical practitioner.
