Full event details

In this session, you will be introduced to some basics of data analysis, a very important step in data-driven computing, including machine learning. We will show that first impressions can be wrong and will discuss implications of not doing a proper data assessment.

We will also have interactive activities with the Sheffield's Women in Computer Science Society (SWiCS), including a Q&A session with SWiCS highlighting how awesome it is to do Computer Science at University and debunking "common myths" of studying Computer Science as a female student (e.g. Computer Science is not for girls).

4:00pm Log in and get comfortable
4:15pm Welcome and introduction to the department
4:45pm "Ice-breaker" activity with SWiCS
5:00pm Hands on data analysis session
5:40pm Q&A with SWiCS
5:55pm Closing remarks and next steps
