Using a 'Classic' shot list for the opening of your film will improve every film by guaranteeing story and character are clear to the audience. We will look at how this is done and how it will benefit every film you make from now on.
In this session we will look at two of the most common situations that are used in almost every film.
1) Opening your film and introducing setting/characters
2) Shooting conversation
Using a 'classic' shot list for the opening of your film will improve every film by guaranteeing story and character are clear to the audience. We will look at how this is done and how it will benefit every film you maker from now on. This shot list will also have wider use as you change locations throughout your production.
Shooting conversation is going to be a large part of your film work. Using a short list of shots to capture conversations will simplify what is often a complex process. These are called 'classic' as they have been used successfully by professional film makers for many years. You will see examples of this in old as well as modern films.
So if it works for the professionals, then there's no reason it won't enhance your own work.
We're delivering our Masterclasses virtually at the moment, to continue allowing you access to our amazing sessions delivered by expert academics. Throughout the sessions we will aim to meet individual needs, allow space for reflection and include time for conversations to share experiences and knowledge within the 'virtual' room.
Our virtual Masterclasses are approximately an hour long, but may run longer if we have a lot of questions.
If you are a teacher or tutor and would like for your whole class to get involved, drop us an email at
[email protected] and we'll see how we can help you. Bespoke events may be possible for schools and colleges, at times that suit you, dependent on academic availability.
