Interview Skills talk for school groups

This session is designed to equip prospective students with the confidence and tools needed to navigate university interviews successfully. Whether applying for competitive degree programmes, foundation courses, or specialist subjects, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of what to expect during the interview process.
We’ll explore the various types of interviews they might encounter—ranging from one-on-one academic interviews and panel assessments to virtual formats and group tasks—and unpack the distinct expectations behind each approach. Students will learn effective strategies for answering a range of common and subject-specific questions, including how to structure responses, communicate ideas clearly, and reflect on their experiences and motivations.
In addition, the session will emphasise the importance of first impressions, covering verbal and non-verbal communication, tone, body language, and professional presentation.
