Full event details

Organised jointly by Aston University and top employers in the West Midlands, our employer engagement activities allow students to access the professions that have shaped our city and inspire them as to how they too can become part of this ever growing success. Each event is designed to increase students' understanding of the range of employment opportunities available to them in the region and the essential soft skills which employers look for in the world of work. Some events will take place at the company’s offices in the West Midlands, allowing students a once in a life time opportunity to gain inside perspective and careers advice from industry experts.

Access to the Professions Conference (Year 9, 10 & 11) - Wednesday 13th June 9.30am - 2.30pm

The Access to the Professions Conference is designed to provide students with the opportunity to access careers information in order to aid their future decision making processes. Companies from across a wide range of sectors facilitate interactive, career-focused workshops that enable students to experience a taster session and gain understanding of a particular profession. They also give them the opportunity to liaise directly with employers about entry routes into their professions.

During the conference, students will have the opportunity to attend sessions that focus on developing vital skills to assist them during the recruitment process and hear from academics at Aston University about higher education and how a degree can help them break into their chosen industry.

A maximum of 50 students per school or college in the first instance.
