Human ingenuity has spawned many breakthrough ideas and discoveries that have changed the world – think about the telephone, the airplane, or the personal computer. At the time of their development, however, an established market that these inventions could serve did not exist. To reap the rewards of human ingenuity, managers and entrepreneurs often have to create entirely new markets.
