'I overslept in my altitude test!' Investigating the problem of doping

This masterclass will provide an introduction to the current debates on combatting doping in sport. This is of particular relevance given the recent ban for Russian Athletes before the 2016 Olympics Games in Rio. Students will be presented with underpinning knowledge of anti-doping laws and principles. They will then participate in a mock doping exercise and defend / prosecute the athlete through to the final result, investigating the disciplinary processes, significant scandals and legal complexities along the way.
