Full event details

This event is part of the SOAS outreach programme and only open to state school students.

Participants will look at the concept of imperialism and ask what we can learn by thinking about violence and resistance in relation to gender (men and women, male and female, masculinity and femininity).

Participants will:

Learn how to conduct gender analysis, debate the importance of gender in politics, and discuss pathways to resistance in relation to case studies of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Further develop their critical thinking, public speaking and analytical skills.

This is a widening participation event and priority will be given to young people from backgrounds under represented in higher education.
