The importance of research design in Biomedicine
Scientific research in biomedicine poses many ethical problems. One area which is often not fully appreciated is that without a well thought through design, a piece of research may have no chance of producing meaningful results, either negative or positive. In this case the research is wasteful of time and money and needlessly exposes the research subjects to risk.
Birkbeck University of London Get Inspired Programme
Birkbeck is a world-class research and teaching institution offering evening higher education. We are now offering the opportunity to join our vibrant centre of academic excellence for a series of inspirational taster lectures lead by our experienced and friendly academic staff.
The sessions are aimed at those looking to study at undergraduate level for the first time and wanting an insight into what it would be like to study a particular subject area at Birkbeck, University of London.
Each session is designed to give students a better understanding of a specific subject area being taught at Birkbeck and to outline some of the academic skills required to study at a university level. Please note: not all sessions are directly linked to current school curriculum study; outlines of each session will be available in advance.
You can expect the following from a Get Inspired Workshop:
Stimulating sessions delivered by experienced and knowledgeable Birkbeck tutors
An overview of the application and admissions process
Meet a Birkbeck student
A chance to ask questions
