The taster day aims to provide opportunities for A-level (and equivalent) music students to experience some of the diverse aspects of university level study in music, whilst enriching A-level study.

Attendees will have a choice of options for each session. Last year’s taster day included lectures on ‘Baroque opera and the castrato: Handel and Farinelli’, ‘Film Music: Titanic’, ‘Wagner, sex and capitalism’, and ‘Arranging for Orchestra’, alongside workshops in Solo Performance (classical) and Korean drumming, and a session on careers in music.
