Event Summary:
In an increasingly globalised world, place and space are still central to our everyday lives. Find out why with Human Geography.
Full Event Details:
Students participating in the taster day will take part in an introduction to York St John, a campus tour and then a talk and taster sessions delivered by staff from Geography. The taster sessions will explore two issues. They will look at geographers' distinctions between 'space' and 'place', and how place is important in our everyday lives. Participants will then look at dominant ideas about urban and rural places, how these ideas are reproduced through popular culture, and their practical implications.
