The making of sound public policies and their effective implementation are pivotal in everyone’s understanding of what constitutes good government. This course offers the opportunity to review, discuss, understand, and evaluate key themes in contemporary international discourse about the policy process and the management of public programmes. Based on selected pieces of contemporary scholarly writings, students will learn the main theoretical approaches to the analysis of public policy and management issues and will develop a deeper understanding of the challenges that public managers face to deliver public value.
