HEADs enable first year FE students and those in Year 12 to discover what it would be like to study a specific subject at university. They offer taster sessions in, student finance information, a personal statement workshop and a chance to quiz current students about their experiences of university life.
Full Event Details:
These give learners the chance to explore some of the subjects they may be considering studying at university through taster sessions and discussion. This could be a subject they are already studying or a completely new subject choice.
We will cover areas such as entry requirements, course content (module, mode of study, assessment, placements etc) and career opportunities. The taster sessions will be delivered by academics involved with the course, so it provides the perfect opportunity to find out firsthand what the degree course would be like.
There will be time to find out more about fees and finance as well as a personal statement workshop to optimise their approach to this part of the UCAS application. The day will give an insight into what it is like to be a student at Bucks New University, including a Q&A session with current students.
For this HEAD, students can find out more about Criminology and Sociology, Police Studies, Psychology and Social Work.
As part of this event, lunch is included free of charge for all in attendance. In some instances we may be able to contribute towards travel costs but please contact us to check if this is applicable to you.
