Full Event Details:
This is a unique opportunity for students to hear from a variety of experts from the field of weather and climate. All of them will discuss engaging topics related to weather and climate with the students, which show how knowledge of maths and physics are vital in predicting and forecasting weather and climate change. Students will be encouraged to get involved in the symposium by introducing the speakers and taking part in question and answer sessions. This will allow students to learn in a different way to how they might usually and experience what higher education could be like. As Meteorology is not a subject studied in detail in schools, this event aims to also give students the opportunity to consider some of the different careers that might be possible with a qualification in meteorology and what degree subjects are available in this area. After the Weather and Climate Symposium, groups may like to have lunch on campus followed by a campus tour.
