Catherine John-Baptiste, Course Leader for Social Work at the School of Social Sciences, will deliver a presentation covering:
an introduction to social work and studying social work at NTU
information and advice to help students complete a good UCAS application and prepare well for interview
an insight into what admissions tutors look for in potential Social Work undergraduates.
There will also be an opportunity to tour the NTU City site, meet current undergraduates and ask questions.

We are required to target learners who are from disadvantaged backgrounds and statistically less likely to progress on to further and higher education. We are required to ensure that at least 66% of the learners who engage in our activities meet one or more of these criteria. These include learners who:
reside in deprived neighbourhoods, where progression rates to higher education are low
are from low socio-economic backgrounds
are currently in receipt of a post-16 bursary
are in receipt of free school meals
are currently looked-after / in care or have recently left care
have a disability
post-16 students on vocational qualifications in state funded institutions (who are doing no more than one standard A-level)
mature students (those on an Access course and / or those over 21-years-old).
