Full event details

Are you in sixth form or college and interested in Art, Design and the Built Environment? Come along for an interactive day of Art and Design based activities, workshops and competitions – and bring your family along too! We would be delighted to welcome you and your parents or carers and younger siblings to our Art and Design Community Day, which is completely free and lunch will be provided.

During the day there will be the opportunity to visit our Degree Shows – which showcase our student's final year work – and take part in an Art Trail around the University. We will also be running Art and Design workshops and be on hand to provide information on university finance and how to apply. There will be additional workshops, competitions and advice available for younger siblings too.

Students who have been along on a Taster Day this year will be invited to take part in an Art, Design and the Built Environment competition prior to the event – and some lucky students will even be exhibiting their work on the day! If you have been on a Taster Day with us this year and you would like to take part in the competition please contact Esther Johnson for further details.

If you have any queries or would like further information about the Art and Design Community Day, please email Esther Johnson ([email protected]).

Places can be booked using our online booking form.

Please be aware that priority will be given to students who:

-live in an area where progression rates to higher education are low
-live in an area of high unemployment
-are currently in receipt of a post-16 bursary
-are in receipt of free school meals
-are currently looked-after / in care or have recently left care
-have a disability
-face barriers to their educational progression.
