Full event details
The course will offer four thematic sessions and will be presented in a way accessible to all A-level candidates. They represent a mixture of subjects: some taught at A-level, others that are likely to be met for the first time at university. The programme includes talks on: Early Byzantine History; Magna Carta; Women and the Great War; and American Civil Rights.
The lecturers will use a broad variety of historical evidence to introduce the problems under discussion and to offer original and provocative analyses of the key issues. There will be an opportunity to ask questions after each session. There will also be a discussion on the value of studying History at University and we will outline the details of our History degree courses.
