Ready, steady, apply: Application support workshop for years 11, 12 or 13

Event Summary:

The session will ensure students are aware of what is involved in their UCAS application, but crucially how they can start planning for their application now, by already thinking about courses to consider studying, institutions to study at and the grades which may be required.

Full Event Details:

In this workshop university courses will be introduced, as well as the different types of course structure, and university decisions students may receive. Including what happens on results day in relation to university participation.

Group size: 5 - 35
Duration: 45 minutes (without course search exercise) or 1 hour (with course search exercise)

The sessions are fully evaluated. This data can be used as an evidence base in terms of the impact of this intervention for school improvement purposes and Ofsted inspections.

A press release can also be sent to the local press after each session, so schools potentially benefit from great publicity as well

Who will deliver the sessions?
All sessions will be facilitated by Jon Cheek, the Founder and Director of UniTasterDays Ltd. Jon has spent a career working in higher education, working with schools throughout the UK. He has worked for three Midlands universities and also sat as an Executive Director of the Higher Education External Relations Association.

UniTasterDays is a Careers England Member organisation, an affiliate member of The Careers Development Institute and a collaborative partner of HELOA. UniTasterDays was a 2018 finalist at the Education Resource Awards.
