Our courses

Here at SAE Institute you can study creative media at BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons) undergraduate level, with courses designed to reflect how today’s creative industries work.

Courses include:

  • Audio Production – recording, mixing, mastering and live sound for music and media.
  • Audio Software Engineering – programming, DSP and audio tool development.
  • Content Creation – photography, video, digital storytelling and online marketing.
  • Creative Computing & AI – creative coding, artificial intelligence and interactive systems.
  • Film Production – visual storytelling, camera, sound, editing and production workflows.

Our alumni community includes award-winning professionals such as Niv Adiri, an Oscar and BAFTA-winning sound designer whose work includes major feature films and projects for Netflix and Warner Bros, Mark Paterson, an Oscar and BAFTA winner who has worked on productions for BBC Films and Film4, Nigel Godrich, producer and engineer best known for his work with Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Beck and U2, and Ricky Damian, a Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter who has worked with Alicia Keys, will.i.am and Plan B.

Student Life

Life at SAE is about getting stuck in and making things with people who are as passionate as you are. You’ll collaborate with students across different courses, forming teams to create films, produce music, design games and build digital projects together.

Outside of classes, there’s always something going on. From industry talks and hands-on workshops to live shows, screenings and side projects, you’ll be surrounded by people experimenting, learning and sharing ideas. It’s a creative community that supports you, challenges you and celebrates the work you make along the way.

Our Facilities and Gear

SAE Institute UK campuses are equipped with industry-standard facilities designed to support creative media students across audio, film, games, content creation and creative technology:

  • Professional recording studios featuring SSL, Neve, Audient and analogue consoles, Dolby Atmos and surround setups, live rooms, vocal booths and outboard from Heritage Audio, Warm Audio, Empirical Labs and more.
  • Film and content creation studios with green screen spaces, lighting rigs and cinema-grade cameras including Sony FX6, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema and URSA Mini, Canon EOS and C-series cameras, plus professional lenses, rigs and stabilisation.
  • Games and computing labswith high-spec PCs and Macs, RTX graphics cards, Unreal Engine and Unity workflows, plus 3D printing facilities for prototyping and games development.
  • Audio production, post-production and game audio suitesusing Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FMOD and Unreal Engine, supported by broadcast, studio and location-recording microphones from Neumann, Shure, sE Electronics, Beyerdynamic, Electro-Voice and Rode.
  • Live sound and performance spaceswith PA systems, digital and analogue FOH consoles, lighting rigs, DJ setups and rehearsal rooms for gigs, showcases and events.
  • Collaborative labs and creative spacesdesigned for group projects, cross-course collaboration, editing, experimentation and independent work, supported by on-site technical teams and equipment loan services.
These facilities give you access to the same tools, workflows and environments used across today’s creative industries, so you can graduate with real, hands-on experience and confidence using professional-grade equipment.
