About the University of Chichester

The University of Chichester has a close-knit, friendly community with an inclusive environment for students to be completely themselves.

We strongly believe having all of our teachers’ research and all of our researchers teach creates an exceptional learning environment for all students to achieve excellence.

You are not just a number to us. We make it our personal mission to know all students by name to allow for an outstanding student experience throughout your time at Chichester.

We are well regarded for teaching excellence, and this has been recognised by our gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023. This rating means we deliver consistently outstanding teaching, learning, and outcomes for our students representing the highest quality found in the UK. We are also ranked 28th in the UK in The Guardian University Guide 2026 (ranked in the top 40 for the sixth year running). Not only that, but we are also ranked 6th in the UK for teaching quality in the National Student Survey 2025, which is based solely on reviews from current students.

The University of Chichester is a modern university surrounded by history; we have over 180 years of teaching heritage. Come and see for yourself the experience we can give you by booking on to one of our events.

Apply to study at Chichester

Here at Chichester, we recognise the UCAS Tariff point system. Conditional offers may be expressed as either grades or UCAS Tariff points. We welcome applicants with T Level qualifications in subjects which align with our degree subjects – and we value the skills you gain during industry placements just as much as what you learn in the classroom.

And we believe that everyone who wishes to pursue higher education should have an equal chance to access their course, regardless of the challenges they may be facing, which is why we give contextual offers in certain circumstances, which have lower than usual entry requirements. If you have any questions about your application, contact our friendly admissions team.

The Recruitment and Outreach team

The Outreach team are able to deliver a range of presentations and workshops to support and guide students through the array of information and options that is the higher education application process.

These sessions include:

Student Finance - the University recognises the importance of providing students with current information on the finance process in a relevant and impartial manner. This can be delivered either as a presentation or in a workshop format. Sessions include the costs of university, the availability of funding and the process of applying for finance.

Personal Statement Workshops and Clinics - interactive group workshops or group presentations are offered to support students when planning and formulating their UCAS personal statements, identifying an appropriate structure, key content, technique and importantly essential tips required to make a successful application.

The team can also deliver 1:1 clinics for students to access support in those final stages of their personal statement and also offer support via email.

Pre and Post UCAS Convention Workshops - In response to feedback, we have developed pre and post UCAS Convention Workshops specifically designed to provide students with all the relevant information needed when attending UCAS conventions. These workshops help students plan effectively before the visit, ask key questions during the event and analyse the materials, prospectuses and information gathered after the event.

We can also deliver presentations covering a range of HE topics such as:

  • Why Go? Exploring the benefits of Higher Education
  • Researching Universities and Courses
  • Writing an effective personal statement
