About the Royal Agricultural University (RAU)

The RAU helps students turn their interests into future careers. We’re a specialist university where you’ll be supported, challenged and encouraged to succeed.

Our degrees focus on land, business, agriculture, equine and the environment – subjects that lead to clear career paths. You’ll learn through a mix of academic study and real-world examples, taught by staff who know their industries. Because we’re a close-knit campus, students are known as individuals. You’ll have the confidence to ask questions, develop your skills and grow as a person as well as a student.

Life here is shaped by those who study with us. That’s why RAU has been recognised nationally: ranked 2nd in the UK in the 2025 Whatuni Student Choice Awards (Small or Specialist category), and 8th for Student Experience in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024.

Every course offers the chance to join our award-winning enterprise programme, designed to spark entrepreneurial thinking and real-world skills. The RAU is one of only six universities in the UK—and the only specialist institution—named a Centre of Excellence by the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE).

Whether it’s shaping industries, protecting the environment, or leading innovation, the RAU is a place where ambition becomes achievement.
