We are not only recognised for our world leading research, but are also joint 20th out of 101 UK institutions and joint 160th in the world in the The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021.

The Recruitment and Outreach teams

The Recruitment and Outreach teams are available to help students make informed decisions about university through our higher education talks, workshops, tours, and masterclasses – either at our campus events or as part of a visit to schools or colleges.

  • Talks to inform choices, including - Why University, how to choose a university and course, the admissions process and personal statements study skills, student life, and student finance explained
  • Subject specific masterclasses with academics
  • Campus visits
  • Online webinars
  • An Access programmee for students in year 12 and above
  • Bespoke events

Our talks are delivered by Sussex graduates, student ambassadors and our recruitment and outreach teams, our activities are aimed at Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students.

Safe, welcoming location

Our beautiful campus offers a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment, surrounded by the tranquillity of the South Downs National Park. Our campus is like a large village, with everything you need for day-to-day life. This includes a post office, GP surgery, dentist, sport centre, supermarket, and pharmacy as well as numerous cafés, bars and restaurants, and a weekly food market.

Brighton city centre is just a short train ride from campus. A sunny seaside city famous for its sense of inclusivity, it’s a place where you can express yourself and be who you want to be. You can be confident you'll be joining a welcoming student community.

Our Careers and Employability Centre team offer advice, information, workshops, events and work experience opportunities to support you throughout your time at Sussex, and for three years after you graduate. We love entrepreneurs – which is why there’s lots of support for students wishing to start or grow their own business or social enterprise.
