The Recruitment and Outreach team

The Outreach team are able to deliver a range of presentations and workshops to support and guide students through the array of information and options that is the higher education application process. These sessions include:

Student Finance - the University recognises the importance of providing students with current information on the finance process in a relevant and impartial manner. This can be delivered either as a presentation or in a workshop format. Sessions include the costs of university, the availability of funding and the process of applying for finance.

Personal Statement Workshops and Clinics - interactive group workshops or group presentations are offered to support students when planning and formulating their UCAS personal statements, identifying an appropriate structure, key content, technique and importantly essential tips required to make a successful application.

The team can also deliver 1:1 clinics for students to access support in those final stages of their personal statement and also offer support via email.

Pre and Post UCAS Convention Workshops - In response to feedback, we have developed pre and post UCAS Convention Workshops specifically designed to provide students with all the relevant information needed when attending UCAS conventions. These workshops help students plan effectively before the visit, ask key questions during the event and analyse the materials, prospectuses and information gathered after the event.

We can also deliver presentations covering a range of HE topics such as:

  • Why Go? Exploring the benefits of Higher Education
  • Researching Universities and Courses
  • Writing an effective personal statement
