University of Chichester

Institution Profile

The University of Chichester has a close-knit friendly community with an inclusive environment for students to be completely themselves.

We strongly believe having all of our teachers research and all of our researchers teach creates an exceptional learning environment for all students to achieve excellence.

You are not just a number to us, we make it our personal mission to know all students by name to allow for an outstanding student experience throughout your time at Chichester.

This has been proven when we came joint first in the UK for good student relationships with teaching staff in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2018. Not only that, but we are in the top 10 for course and lecturers, student support and students' union in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019.

The University of Chichester is a modern university surrounded by history. In 2019 we are celebrating 180 years of higher education.Come and see for yourself the experience we can give you by booking on to one of our events

Information about the outreach team:

The Outreach team are able to deliver a range of presentations and workshops to support and guide students through the array of information and options that is the higher education application process. These sessions include;

Student Finance - the University recognises the importance of providing students with current information on the finance process in a relevant and impartial manner. This can be delivered either as a presentation or in a workshop format. Sessions include the costs of University, the availability of funding and the process of applying for finance.

Personal Statement Workshops and Clinics - interactive group workshops or group presentations are offered to support students when planning and formulating their UCAS personal statements, identifying an appropriate structure, key content, technique and importantly essential tips required to make a successful application.

The team can also deliver 1:1 clinics for students to access support in those final stages of their personal statement and also offer support via email.

Pre and Post UCAS Convention Workshops - In response to feedback, we have developed pre and post UCAS Convention Workshops specifically designed to provide students with all the relevant information needed when attending UCAS conventions. These workshops help students plan effectively before the visit, ask key questions during the event and analyse the materials, prospectuses and information gathered after the event.

We can also deliver presentations covering a range of HE topics such as:

- Why Go? Exploring the benefits of Higher Education
- Researching Universities and Courses
- Writing an effective personal statement
