Full event details

What makes men and women different?... How do elites maintain their power?... Does the supernatural exist?... What do clothes say about the wearer?... Are you what you eat?...

…If any of these questions are ones you’d like to answer, then come along to Discover Social Anthropology and find out more! The Discover Social Anthropology Day offers invaluable insight into the study of social and cultural diversity across the world. This day caters both for students with some knowledge of anthropology and those who know little but are curious! With its prime focus on ‘world cultures’, you can come to social anthropology with a wide range of academic backgrounds and enthusiasms. As well as an interest in politics, economics, law, kinship and religion, for example, social anthropology also focuses on language, images, aesthetics, dance, the body, music, ritual and so on. In fact, it is interested in all the diverse, creative and destructive things that human beings get up to.

This event also includes a special parallel CPD activity for attending teachers, who would like to find out more about the subject and what resources, support and materials are available to them.
