Full event details

This Masterclass is for Year 12 students. Students are often introduced to mathematics in a way that does not emphasise the vast interplay that is happening between the frontier of pure mathematics and theoretical physics. In this lecture (slide presentation), which doesn't require any particular background, I will give a flavour of how these interactions take shape in string theory, one of the leading candidate theories for our understanding of fundamental physics, that is also shaping many current trends in geometry, algebra, and analysis.
