What's it about?:

From viral family influencers to world leaders who push the limits of power — what happens when the people meant to protect us cross the line?

In this interactive taster webinar, you'll explore two fascinating areas of law with expert academics from the University of Essex:

  • Kids as Content: Can UK law protect us from our parents? The rise of family influencers has blurred the line between parenting and performance. Who owns your image when you’re too young to consent?
  • Can the law protect us from a tyrant? Around the world, more leaders are gaining power through legal means, only to abuse it once in office. Could it happen in the UK? Is our legal system strong enough to stop it?

This session will deepen your understanding of law, add valuable insight for your personal statement, and encourage you to explore the subject from fresh and challenging perspectives. It also offers a glimpse into how the University of Essex challenges convention, champions human rights, and makes a difference through bold, impactful legal education.
