Full event details

The aim of the conference is to raise students’ aspirations and add an element of excitement with regards to studying law at higher education. The event is open to all year 12 students; however it will be of particular interest to those who are interesting in applying for a law degree.

Through a busy programme of activities and a topic that they can engage with, students will be provided a taster of what is it like to study law at university.

Last year, the theme for the day was "Trolls, Twitter and Texting: Will the Law ever catch up with the challenges of 21st Century Social Networking?", which proved a very topical subject for the attendees!

The sessions were delivered by School of Law academics and included: a lecture on social media, two workshops, a mock trial, a presentation on preparing for university and a careers session.

The programme for this year proves to be equally exciting and will be finalised in due course.

If you would like your students to attend this conference, please save this date in your school calendar. Official invitations and information on how to book places for your students will be sent in the coming months. Please note, there is no requirements for a teacher / tutor to accompany students to this event. Students are welcome to book places independently, rather than through their school.

This event is free to attend.
