Full event details

This session introduces students to some of the key debates in contemporary Human Geography regarding the cultural politics of memory, memorialisation and public space. Contextualised by the politics of the Black Lives Matter Movement, it focuses on the events surrounding the toppling of the Edward Colston statue in 2021 and asks questions about the traumatic history of the slave trade and how we acknowledge it.
