In this session, we will explore a remarkable account of fighting the undead in early twelfth-century England. Our text, written by a well-informed contemporary, invites many questions - questions which we will answer in the course of this seminar. What forces brought the undead to life? How could the undead be defeated? And why did the fate of the undead matter to twelfth-century communities? With Hugh Doherty.

Wednesday 26 May, 16.30-17.15
