What are the social sciences? What can you study at University and how is it different from studying A-levels or Access?
Our virtual Preparing for Social Sciences event covers topics to compliment your students' current learning. It will open their minds to new areas of study and potential careers paths, as well as giving them an insight into University-level study.
Join us all week, or for individual sessions
Open to current year 11, 12 and 13 students, each session has been designed specifically to suit the needs of schools and colleges.
Sessions will run across the week, so you and your students can sign up to however many you want. You can sign up your whole class for a session as a teacher, or sign students up individually.

Sessions include:
Education: "You did what over the weekend?" A discussion about how teachers can protect their digital footprints and develop a more positive profile online.
Sociology: The sociology of being funny - why do people use memes? We will explore how social theory can help us to understand memes in a sociological way.
Politics: Tony Blair, Bill Clinton, and UK/US political relations.
Student life: What is a typical day like for a social sciences student? 3rd year Amy Noakes talks about her experience and what she knows now that she didn't know before.
