The Culture Map will invite students to think about how communication works across cultural boundaries. It will explore some key areas of cultural difference between our culture and that of others, e.g. how people think about politeness, who is in charge, how people disagree and how people measure and organise time. It will aim to show that language is not enough to communicate with other cultures; we need intercultural skills as well.
