What is Engineering and Materials Science?


What is it all about?
With so many different engineering programmes to choose from, this 3 day course aims to give you a taste of some of the programmes offered by the School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary University of London.
• Biomedical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Materials Science
• Chemical Engineering
This course will enable you to gain a deeper understanding of engineering disciplines, whilst improving important skills such as; problem solving, research and communication.

What will I be doing?

During the course you will work as a team on a research project and develop a presentation based on your topic. You will also participate in practical activities, attend a university style taster lecture and attend sessions in careers and presentation skills.

This is a 3 day non-residential course

Would this course suit me?

This course would suit you if you will be studying Maths and Physics or Chemistry at A level and would like to find out how these subjects can lead to a degree in engineering or materials science.

There is a fee to attend this course, but some bursaries are available.

Applications need to be made by student.
