Full event details

Based at UCB, this event will highlight vocational pathways available to pupils. Sessions will explore the advantages and disadvantages of both vocational HE options and apprenticeships.

Pupils will hear from current vocational degree students as well as from current apprentices. The day will also include a talk from a local employer who will emphasise skills needed in today’s jobs market. In addition, pupils will all undertake an assessment centre task in order to gain a greater understanding of application processes, including the increasingly common, assessment centre.

The event will run from 09:30 - 14:30.

5th February 2020 - Yr 9 & Yr 10
24th June 2020 - Yr 9 & Yr 10

Learning Objectives:
- Understand the vocational career and educational opportunities available, including apprenticeships
- Understand application processes, including the pros and cons associated with all progression options
- Gain a relevant and realistic personal view of both university and apprenticeship options, including an interaction with an employer
- Experience a mock assessment centre task
