Thought prediction: the science of decision making

Professor Kenny Coventry, Head of the Psychology, will talk about the science behind how we make decisions – from deciding treatment for a patient (in the case of medical decision making), to choosing a number on a roulette wheel. Are we really in control of the decisions we make…and can science help us understand when decision making goes awry? In this interactive lecture, Professor Coventry will present the science using practical examples that include mental prediction.

There will also be an optional opportunity to attend a ‘Preparing for University’ talk and/or to take part in a campus tour, led by one of our student ambassadors.

We are happy to accommodate school groups at this event- please contact us to discuss your school’s requirements.
