Build and Test Your Own Wind Turbine Tower
Are you interested in a career as an engineer in the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector? If so, this interactive session will give you the opportunity to experience what it would be like to study for an energy engineering degree. You will learn about Open Lattice structures, which support offshore wind turbines and have to resist the enormous horizontal force from wind and waves as well as the vertical loads from their weight. In teams, you will build and test your own lattice and gain an insight into how these open truss-like structures transfer forces to the ground.
Wednesday 27 February
