Full event details

Advances in medical and dental treatments are being accelerated by the study of materials science and engineering. Medical treatment has progressed in leaps and bounds, a lot of these have been made possible by discoveries in materials science. This includes development of bone cement in hip replacement, advanced hydrogels in wound dressing for burns injuries and bio-inert materials for replacement heart valves. In this taster course, you will participate in performing a mock hip replacement and explore different materials in medical and dental treatments.
