Full event details

Pharmacists are the medicines experts; they need to know how they work, how they are made and how (and in who) they should be used. This masterclass provides an overview of the pharmacist’s role in the discovery, design, dosage form development and dispensing of drugs. The students will have an opportunity to prepare different medicines and see how the way in which they are given can influence their success, as well as performing simple diagnostic tests to help decide what medicines the patient might need. Students will gain an insight into how a medicine takes the journey from molecule to man, understand how the body handles different types of medicine and appreciate the integral role of a pharmacist in making sure the medicine is effective.
