This masterclass will present students with the opportunity to understand and explore the various legal and moral predicaments surrounding the issue of cannibalism through a detailed fact analysis of thought provoking legal cases from around the world. Using the introductory discussions held on the legal cases as a framework, the students will be invited to participate in a mock trial on a fictional case on cannibalism, whereby students will discuss, present and judge arguments provided from various perspectives on the fictional case. The interactive masterclass will shed light on the importance of ‘critical thinking’ in legal studies, as students will have the opportunity to understand the importance of challenging presumptions being made in any legal and moral argument.
